2017 YMCA Turkey Trot

I hope that you have found this series of blog posts and videos helpful throughout your Turkey Trot training! I just wanted to quickly review what we have talked about the past several weeks.

Four Key Points

1. Remember to properly warm up using the six- minute ladder drill
2. Stretching of your calves, hip flexors, and IT Band will reduce potential injury
3. Planks will give you a foundation built to last
4. Poor Balance = Chance of Injury- don’t forget to practice!

I will be hosting a free Turkey Trot Q & A on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 7-8PM at Buffalo Rehab Group’s Kenmore Village location, 2760 Delaware Avenue Kenmore, NY 14217.

In the class, I will continue to cover what was discussed in the recent videos, as well as further detailed running and strength training exercises to improve your race time, reduce injury risk, and most importantly, make running FUN! Bring your running shoes and any questions you might have!
