Ryan grew up in Nova Scotia, Canada and was heavily involved in sports during his childhood. Ryan’s first passion was wrestling, which led to a lifelong love for mixed martial arts and human performance. From a very young age, the importance of caring for others was a value instilled in Ryan. When his athletic career led to injuries of his own, he was inspired by the therapists that helped him get back to doing what he loved and saw that a career in physical therapy was a natural bridge between his love for performance and his passion for caring.
Ryan attended Acadia University and achieved an honors degree in Kinesiology before moving to Australia to pursue his Physical Therapy education at the University of Canberra where he graduated in 2012. While in Australia, Ryan was fortunate to work with some of the top sports therapists in the country and had the privilege of working with athletes of all varieties and skill levels up to Olympians and Iron men and women.
Ryan began his career at Buffalo Rehab Group in July of 2021 after relocating from New York City to South Buffalo. He’s inspired by the energy and kindness of the people who call Buffalo home. Ryan enjoys working with all different demographics, but has a special interest in post-operative care, rheumatological & autoimmune conditions, and sport-specific rehab. When he isn’t in the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his wife and dog, exercising in the gym, and tuning into football and hockey games.
