Melissa grew up in Lancaster, NY, and graduated high school from Mount St. Mary Academy in Kenmore, NY. She then attended Nazareth College in Rochester, NY, where she earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Returning to Lancaster after graduating in 2015, she started at Buffalo Rehab Group.
Melissa lives in Depew, NY, with her husband, Jeff, son Charlie, and their rescue dog, Mona.
Melissa was very active in sports growing up, including softball, track, and volleyball, but her favorite sport was and still is gymnastics. She was a competitive gymnast for many years at Gymnastics Sports Academy before an injury no longer allowed her to compete, but she continued her love for gymnastics with coaching throughout high school and college.
She was introduced to physical therapy after multiple gymnastics injuries and instantly fell in love. Melissa spent a lot of time volunteering and learning more about physical therapy during high school before deciding it was definitely what she wanted to do. She loves that she can make a difference in people’s lives by being able to help them regain their function and return to what they enjoy doing.
When not in the clinic, Melissa and her husband love to explore all Buffalo has to offer, including walking their dog in local parks, rooting on the Buffalo sports teams, and attending musicals at Shea’s with their season tickets. She loves to travel with fond memories of India and has visited many states across the US, her favorite being Myrtle Beach, SC.
